Liquid Rhinoplasty Nose dermal filler

What is a liquid rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty often called a “nose job,” is one of the most common cosmetic surgical procedures. However, more and more people are looking for a less invasive way to reshape their nose.

This is where liquid rhinoplasty comes in. It still smooths out bumps and contours the nose, but it’s temporary and has very minimal recovery time.

Liquid rhinoplasty is the non-surgical option to traditional rhinoplasty.  It can be used to temporarily address issues like a dorsal hump (small bump), a drooping nasal tip, and asymmetry.  With this procedure, filler is injected into the clients nose, to improve the contours and reshape.  This is usually done with hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers, the same type of filler used for cheek and lip fillers.

Benefits

  • The procedure takes around 15-30 minutes to complete, a fraction of the time a surgical rhinoplasty takes.
  • Minimal downtime - Aside from a little swelling and tenderness at the injection sites, recovery time is very minimal.  You can have the procedure done and return to your normal activities almost immediately.
  • It's reversible, if the results are not as you imagined or (rarely) a complication occurred - HA fillers can be dissolved using hyaluronidase.

Who is it suitable for?

  • Liquid rhinoplasty is most suited to people that have small bumps or droopy tips that they wish to address.
  • It is unlikely to be suitable for someone looking for a very drastic result such as to fix a very crooked or broken nose.  A surgical option may be indicated in these circumstances.
  • The procedure may not be suitable for a person that wears glasses regularly as the filler can be displaced by the glasses especially if filler is being used in the bridge of the nose.
  • If you are considering liquid rhinoplasty or are unsure if you might be suitable, please book a complimentary, no obligation consultation with Kelly to discuss further.

How long does it last for?

  • Liquid rhinoplasty uses hyaluronic acid (HA) based dermal fillers therefore, the results are temporary.
  • Typically the results will last between 6 months - 2 years dependent on the type of filler used and the individual.
  • The procedure will need to be repeated to maintain the results.

What are the side-effects?

  • Liquid rhinoplasty is a very safe procedure when performed by an experienced practitioner and has a low complication rate.
  • The main side-effects of treatment are the same as with other HA filler treatments;  Tenderness, swelling and bruising are the most common.  These generally subside within a few days.
  • Rarely, vascular occlusion can occur, this is when dermal filler is inadvertently injected into a blood vessel, which may result in a blockage.  This is a serious complication and must be recognised and treated promptly - when choosing your practitioner please ensure they are properly qualified and equipped to deal with complications appropriately.

What is the cost?

  • From £450 - the price is dependent upon the quantity and type of HA filler used.
