Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, often referred to as a vampire facial, harnesses the body’s own healing powers to stimulate new tissue growth, giving your skin a healthy, more youthful appearance.
A small amount of the clients own blood is taken and the plasma is then separated out from the rest of the blood, by means of a centrifuge to create the platelet rich plasma. This plasma is then injected into the area of concern, where the platelets release their growth factors.
PRP can improve skin texture and tone and help to regenerate collagen, helping reduce wrinkles and lines, tackle blemishes, improve scarring and restore a healthy more youthful glow.
At Fill Your Face Aesthetics, we use the Cellenis® PRP collection system, as it achieves a very high platelet concentration (around 90%) while eliminating unwanted red blood cell (RBC) contaminants. This reduces inflammatory response and discomfort, while achieving optimal results.

PRP Therapy is typically chosen by clients who are looking for a natural procedure to rejuvenate their skin and reduce wrinkles. PRP Therapy stimulates the skin to repair itself using only your own blood, making it one of the most natural anti-ageing techniques available. PRP Therapy can be safely used all over the body.
The platelet rich plasma itself is first prepared using the clients own blood, which is concentrated to clinically defined concentration levels, for greater effect. This is then applied or injected back into the skin, where the platelet rich plasma releases platelet growth factors, which stimulate cell growth, increase the production of collagen and improve the skin’s ability to retain moisture.
Visible results take between 2-6 weeks and will vary between individuals. This variance depends on factors such as age, general health, diet, smoking and skin type.
While PRP Therapy is very safe, there are some clients who may not be suitable for treatment including clients who have clotting disorders and abnormal platelet function. Kelly will undertake a consultation, prior to treatment.
Many areas are suitable for treatment with PRP. Some of the most commonly treated areas are around the eyes, the jaw line, cheeks, forehead, naso-labial lines, marionette lines, neck, décolletage and back of hands.
PRP can also be used very successfully in the scalp area to help stimulate hair growth and is, therefore, a popular treatment for people experiencing hair loss or thinning.
Following a course of treatment (3 treatments at 4-6 week intervals) the results of PRP therapy can be expected to last up to 18 months. A one-off treatment, can be expected to last for several months. To maintain your results after an initial course of treatment, it is usually recommended to have 1-2 treatments annually.
Because we are using your own blood to obtain the PRP solution there is very minimal risk of any adverse reactions. The injection process may cause some slight discomfort, bruising and/or swelling, this tends to subside in a few days. Infection risk is minimised by using single-use equipment and sterile technique.
This is dependent upon the area being treated and the amount of platelet rich plasma we need to obtain. The Cellenis® PRP system has 2 tube sizes (11ml & 22ml)
As a general guide, if you are having PRP Therapy in one area only i.e face or hands, we will probably require an 11ml tube. If you are having multiple or very large areas treated we are likely to require a 22ml tube.
Our PRP face treatment is currently priced at £400 per treatment.
