Polynucleotides

Stimulating the body’s own cell regeneration

What are polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are chains of nucleotides, which are essentially the building blocks of DNA.  DNA controls many important bodily functions, including how the skin develops. When polynucleotide chains are introduced into the skin through multiple small injections, they help repair damaged DNA cells in the skin and as a result, the cells function better.

Polynucleotides stimulate fibroblast cells which help to form connective tissue like collagen and elastin, the essential proteins that provide the skin with shape and volume giving a more youthful appearance.

Polynucleotide chains can also:

  • improve the extra-cellular matrix of skin cells - boosting hydration
  • stabilise pigmentation
  • reduce inflammation

Polynucleotide treatments also have an anti-free radical action, helping to counteract and protect the skin from factors like stress and sun damage.  Polynucleotides are a type of ‘regenerative’ treatment - They change how DNA is expressed, encouraging the body’s natural mechanisms to generate healthier skin cells.

The antioxidant properties of polynucloetides benefits all skin types:

– Stimulates collagen production
– Boosts fibroblast activity
– Enhances protein synthesis
– Facilitates tissue repair
– Promotes regeneration of damaged and ageing tissues
– improves hydration levels
– Improves skin elasticity
– Diminishes crepiness

We use several brands of polynucleotides at Fill Your Face Aesthetics, including Nucleofill, Philart, Plinest and Plenhyage.

Available at Faversham and Ramsgate Clinics.

Polynucleotides - frequently asked questions

Please reach us at kelly@fillyourface.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We advise a series of 3 treatments to achieve optimal results, although some improvement may be noticeable after a single session. The effects of treatment typically last for up to 12 months (depending on skin type and age)

Polynuclotides are designed to invigorate and rejuvenate the skin, they are safe for all skin types. They are an injectable treatment intended for application on the face, neck, décolletage and hands, promoting a more radiant complexion.

Some polynucloetides are designed specifically for use around the delicate eye area, we can advise which product will be most suitable for your skin concerns  following consultation.

We also offer Croma PhilArt Hair.  PhilArt Hair can help reduce hair loss and promote strong hair growth for men and women of all ages. The potent treatment re-establishes suppleness, strength and tone of hair, improving all-round condition and thickness.

PhilArt Hair injections are administered in different ways, depending on the target area and desired outcome. Treatments focus on revitalising hair follicles to promote elasticity and accelerate growth. The hair, scalp and eyebrows are all treatable.

*PhilArt Hair is not a replacement for hair transplant treatments.

Side effects that can occur are:

  • Pain or stinging during the injection procedure.
  • Injections around the lip area could trigger a recurrence of facial cold sores (herpes simplex infections) for clients with a history of prior cold sores.
  • Localised swelling, redness and or tenderness.
  • Bleeding at the sites of injection.
  • Bruising - maybe severe in rare cases and may persist for several days.
  • Welts where injected generally disappear within a short period of time, however may still be visible after a few days.

Rare side effects:

  • Persistent tingling, pain, swelling, or inflammation.
  • Infection.
  • Allergic reaction or delayed sensitivity reaction - not recommended for people with known fish allergies.
  • Compression /Vascular Compromise - the blood supply to the skin may be interrupted by swelling or inadvertent injection into a vessel, causing pain and/or discolouration. This can lead to necrosis of the skin if not dealt with promptly, skin damage and possible scarring (very rare)
